Last month, UTR Media debuted the new playlist Heart, Soul, & Mind on Spotify. It’s now time for first update. Not only did we clear the slate with an entirely new batch of songs, we also expanded the playlist to 70 tracks (from 60). CURATOR’S NOTES – PLAYLIST 02 (OCT 2018)

I love thinking about the user experience when putting playlists like this together. One question I have fun asking myself is: “If someone turned on their car radio, and there was a UTR radio station on the dial, what would they hope to hear?” And if you use Spotify on the go, this can easily serve as the radio station of your dreams. You can get listen to this playlist for a half hour every day for a month, and you wouldn’t repeat a song more than 3 times.  The fun challenge of this playlist was to look at the 56 artists we featured in Playlist 01 and mostly highlight artists this month that weren’t on that list (about 95% are being featured for the first time on the playlist).  The order and the ebb and flow are quite intentional – brand new, flashback, male, female, tender, foot-stomper.  And with election day around the corner – YES, I picked “Voting Day” by Son of Laughter on purpose.
