There’s a documentary on HULU that highlights the making of the 1990 modern-classic holiday film Home Alone.  The producers and film crew share how after they wrapped production, they weren’t entirely sure the quality of what they turned in.  Then… a key ingredient was added that wasn’t present before: the movie score composed by Hollywood legend John Williams.  The prior uncertainty of the crew immediately changed. They instantly knew that the now-famous score had elevated the film to a “magical” level.  Music has that power, doesn’t it?  It accompanies our circumstances – it is the soundtrack to a time and space.  We take very seriously this wild and historic year that is 2020, and we strive to serve you well by curating music that can spiritually stir your soul during these days.

CURATOR’S NOTES (JUN-AUG 2020)

As we embrace the fact that we live in the most unusual and providential years our generation has ever experienced, it’s important that the music we consume is nourishing to our soul (and not just cotton candy for our ears).  This is why I am proud to say that this playlist is the MOST racially diverse set of music that we have ever assembled.  Many of the songs are also releases in recent weeks, often songs that were birthed out of the pandemic that still find ourselves in.  My hope is that you find these songs as a “cloud of witnesses” that will walk with you as a soundtrack to this season of life.  (Dave)
